MEDALTA //// MEDICINE HAT, ALBERTA

Jasna and Noel spent the month of September at the amazing Medalta for the Laura McKibbon Invites artist residency, along with Laura McKibbon, Vipoo Srivilasa, and Paul Scott. The focus of the residency became the reuse of rejects from the trash pile behind the old production facility. After refurbishing, they each became one of a kind works of art. See images of the project and processes here. Check out the Medalta Residency here. Ceramic artists around the world should be making it a priority to come and visit this place!

GUDRUN

These Gray Days recently installed its commissioned interior design piece for Patrick Tubajon’s Gudrun Restaurant in Steveston. These ’3D wallpaper’ elements were designed to compliment a reoccurring pattern in the restaurant, each with assorted screen-printed glaze patterns. ![]()
HOME PROJECT

Over the summer and across continents we’ve been tagging with magnetic letters. For us it was a reflection on the meaning of home, with Noel’s Canadian permanent residence having been granted earlier this summer and our roots growing deeper. We placed them along our familiar pathways, choosing meaningful spots to us. Given the ephemeral nature of graffiti (extremely so in Vancouver), we wanted to beautify the city with a gesture that would have a second life as a gift for those who discover that they can be easily removed. Our intern Henriikka Leppänen played a big part, adding several great Helsinki tags to our collection. Click here to see more and stay tuned as we release dozens more into the city throughout the upcoming months.
ANTHROPOLOGIE

These Gray Days continues its collaboration with Anthropologie. We were first commissioned by the Philadelphia based store to produce a collection of objects for their new Vancouver store for the opening last May. Now we are one of the featured artists in their online gallery. You can find some of our work in the new arrivals section now! Keep checking for updates.
